BIHAR NEET UG COUNSELLING 2020
BCECEB – Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board is the Governing body which conducts Under Graduate Medical Admission Counseling (UGMAC) for 85% State quota Government seat and 100% Private seat of Medical colleges across the State.
15% Government seat comes under AIQ (All India Quota) for which counseling conducted through MCC (Medical Counseling Committee).
Students are eligible to participate in the counseling after qualifying NEET UG exam by securing Minimum 50 Percentile score for General and 40 Percentile for OBC/SC & ST.
There are 9 Government Medical College & 5 Private Medical College, all together 1140 Government seats & 600 Private seats are being offered for MBBS program.
GET MY UNIVERSITY OBSERVATIONS
As per “Get My University” studies Government Medical Colleges located in Patna and Muzaffarpur were most preferred among top rankers. Private Medical Colleges are gradually improving.
From 2020 a new Private Medical College, Netaji Subhas Medical College & Hospital, Bettiah with an intake of 100 seat is going to commence academic session.
We observed Cut off was quite high in Round 1 but came down in Round 2.
For example – Last Government seat allotted to a general category student in Round 1 at a rank of 10351. It came down to a rank of 13985 in Round 2.
GMU would like to advise Medical aspirant looking for Private seat in Bihar to do a proper financial planning as there are charges like Hostel, Mess, Security deposit, Miscellaneous etc. other than tuition fee which may fall between 3-4 lacs you all need to pay.
For example – Break up of fees in Mata Gujri Memorial Medical College :
838000(Tuition fee) + 50000(Admission fee) + 200000(Hostel) + 60000(Mess) + 100000(Student amenities) +
100000(Refundable Security deposit) = 1348000 is what a student will have to pay 1st year and 1248000 from 2nd year onwards.

ELIGIBILITY FOR MBBS ADMISSION IN bihar
- The qualifying examination should be passed with minimum of 50% marks (40% for reserve category candidates) in PCB and English subjects.
- Appearing candidates are also eligible to apply.
- The lower age limit to apply is 17 years as on 31st December in the year of admission.
- The upper age limit is 25 years and 5 years of age relaxation for reserve categories.
- Only candidates who have qualified in NEET 2019 entrance test by achieving minimum 50 percentile for General and 40 Percentile for SC/ST and OBC will be eligible to participate in the Up NEET 2019 counseling.
- Bihar Domicile candidates can apply for State Government, whereas Pvt. Seat is open for both domicile and non-domicile.
