The Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) is a college under Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology and was set up in 2007 in Odisha. The institute has redefined healthcare in Odisha and neighbouring states. The hospital and medical college have 2600 bed capacity which helps students and doctors to implement theoretical knowledge into practical and helps doctors to cure people. The college has twenty broad speciality departments and twelve super speciality departments, which are managed by acclaimed specialists and doctors. The Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) spreads over four hundred acres of land. They also have a huge library that holds 32,491 books, National and International Print Journals (67 titles), Back Volumes (135 titles), and 400 CDs and DVDs. They have two cafeterias – one for students and one for staff – where they can sit and enjoy food, soft and hot drinks etc. There are twenty hostels for boys and eleven hostels for girls, with accommodation capacities of 10,180 and 5,648 students, respectively.
