Admission Process

The process for MBBS admission process can go through these steps -

  1. Counseling and Admission: Students who clear the entrance exam are called for counseling and admission process. During the counseling, students need to submit their original documents, pay the admission fees, and complete other formalities to secure a seat.
  2. Visa: Indian students need to apply for a student visa to study MBBS in Bangladesh. They need to submit the admission letter, passport, and other required documents to the Bangladesh embassy to obtain a student visa.

Eligibility Criteria for MBBS Admission in Bangladesh 

Here is the Criteria condition requirement for admission -

  • Candidate should be NEET qualified.
  • To verify, if you meet the requirements for studying MBBS in Bangladesh, your cumulative grade point averages from both your 10th and 12th grades will be considered collectively.  (Minimum GPA needed is 6.5)
  • There should be no gap of more than 2 years after completing the 12th education.
  • The student should have 60% marks in the 12th standard.
  • Interested candidates have to clear the NEET exam with good marks.
  • Age must be above 17 years.

Is MBBS in Bangladesh Valid as per FMGL regulation 2021?

Yes, according to the Foreign Medical Graduate Screening Examination (FMGE) regulation of 2021, an MBBS degree obtained from a recognized medical university in Bangladesh is valid for Indian citizens who wish to practice medicine in India after clearing the FMGE.  

If a person intends to commence medical practice in Bangladesh, it is imperative that they possess a work visa as clinical practice is prohibited on a student visa.

FMGL Conditions by the National Medical Commission cleared it earlier, that a student has to pass the medical practicing licensing exam of India before he starts to practice medicine in INDIA. It has made it mandatory for every student who completed medicine from any country.

Bangladesh can be an ideal destination to pursue MBBS, but it has some disadvantages too such as - 

  1. In the first year of your MBBS program, you have to make a payment of approximately 40% of the total fee which may become unaffordable for some students.
  2. In Bangladesh, there is a strict rule that allows a maximum gap of only 2 years between high school and starting their MBBS program.
  3. The overall cost of Medical education is on a higher side compared to some overseas MBBS destinations.
