Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC) is a constituent unit under KLE Academy of Higher Education and Research (Deemed-to-be-University). JNMC was established in 1963 with a vision to become a centre of excellence in Medical Education, Research, and Health Care services at the National and International Level. The hospital, KLE Dr. Prabhakar Kore Charitable Hospital, is empanelled by many Governmental and Non-Governmental health insurance schemes. The hospital has a 2400 bed capacity under one roof, which is one of the largest hospitals. There are 26 major operation theatres and 240 ICU beds.
