The National Medical Commission (NMC) has officially released the updated seat matrix dated 3rd September 2025, bringing big news for MBBS aspirants across India. According to the notification by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), several new medical colleges have been established, and seat capacity has been increased in many existing institutions for the 2025–26 academic session. These seats will be available in Round 2 of NEET UG Counselling 2025.

Key Highlights of MCC Notice 2025

•    Newly Established Medical Colleges: Multiple new government medical colleges and ESIC institutions across states like Assam, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Meghalaya, Odisha, Punjab, Rajasthan, Telangana, and Uttar Pradesh.
•    Total New Seats Approved (Government Colleges): 1,200 MBBS seats.
•    Seat Increase in Existing Government Colleges: 970 additional MBBS seats.

For the academic session 2025–26, NMC has approved several new government medical colleges across India. With fresh establishments in Assam, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Rajasthan, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, and more, around 1,000 new MBBS seats have been added, boosting opportunities in affordable medical education.
