Smt. B. K. Shah Medical Institute & Research Centre is a constituent unit under Sumandeep Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University). The campus was established in 2002 and is now spread across sixty-five acres of land. Smt. B.K. Shah Medical Institute & Research Centre received permission on 30th September 2003 from the Medical Council of India & Government of India, with an intake of 150 MBBS students.
There are 13 departments and offices on campus including the Department of Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Microbiology, Forensic Medicine and Toxicology, Community Medicine, Pathology, along with the Office of the Dean, Administrative Office, Students’ Section, College Council Room, Medical Education Unit, and Examination Hall.
The institute offers excellent academic facilities, including 6 air-conditioned gallery-type lecture theatres, demonstration rooms, modern laboratories, a spacious auditorium, a well-stocked library, teaching hospitals, hostels, and much more—helping to maintain a healthy and effective learning environment for students.
