Government Medical College The Nilgiris is affiliated with The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai. The college offers undergraduate programs leading to the degree of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), as well as postgraduate and super-specialty programs in various medical disciplines.

Admissions to the MBBS program at Government Medical College, Coimbatore, are done through the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
