Being a premier medical college in Dibrugarh, Assam Medical College, also known as AMC is one of the oldest and most prestigious medical colleges in Northeast India as it was established in 1947. It was the first medical college in Northeast India and the third medical college in the country. Being the first Medical College in Northeast India and the third Medical College in the country, with an initial intake of only 50 students.
Assam Medical College is affiliated with Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences, Assam. The college offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in various medical disciplines.
Providing state-of-the-art and unique facilities, AMC has well-equipped laboratories, libraries, lecture halls, examination halls, and hostel accommodations.
