Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS), Kochi, is one of the nine campuses of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham is a private, multi-disciplinary, research-intensive university, educating over 24,000 students with the support of more than 1,700 faculty members. Amrita University offers more than 250 programs at the undergraduate, postgraduate, and Ph.D. levels across a wide range of disciplines, including Engineering, Management, Medical Sciences, Ayurveda, Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, Arts & Humanities, and Social & Behavioural Sciences.
Apart from the Kochi campus, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham has 8 other campuses located in Amaravati, Amritapuri, Bengaluru, Chennai, Coimbatore, Nagercoil, Mysuru, and NCR Delhi (Faridabad). MBBS courses are offered only in two campuses of Amrita University—one in Kochi and another in Faridabad.

The admission process to Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS) starts with following these procedures. Eligibility Criteria Students need to fulfill two requirements: they should have obtained minimum cutoff marks while finishing 10+2 with PCB subjects. The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) serves as the primary admission requirement for medical colleges in India, and students must qualify this exam to secure admission. Application Process Candidates should complete their application through the internet-based form which exists on both the website. The necessary documents for the application include mark sheets, the NEET scorecard, identity proof, and photographs. NEET Examination Follow the procedures to enrol for the NEET examination that NTA maintains as its testing authority. Counselling Process Candidates receive counselling invitations through All India Quota and State Quota channels after their performance in the NEET examination. Candidates make AIMS their first college choice through the counselling process by choosing it in their options. Seat Allotment The counselling process assigns seats through combination of scores achieved in NEET and candidate-selected preferences. Candidates must visit the official counselling website to view the results of their allotted seats. Admission Confirmation To confirm their admission after seat allocation candidates must perform two steps of duty. Payment of fees. Submission of required documents for verification. Candidates must finish the formalities which include medical requirements and essential documentation processes. Commencement of Classes Candidates receive notice about orientation and classes commencement following the admission process.
