About Sri Siddhartha Medical College, Tumkur

Based in Tumkur, Karnataka; Sri Siddhartha Medical College (SSMC) was started in 1988 by Sri Siddhartha Educational Society (SSES). This medical college in Karnataka is located on the outskirts of Tumkur city and it is 6 km from the city amidst the green field in a vast campus of 220 acres. 

Sri Siddhartha Medical College (SSMC) Tumkur was inaugurated by the then Prime Minister of India, Rajiv Gandhi. The hospital has a separate building for OPD and causality with independent departments of Surgery, Medicine, Ophthalmology, OBG, Paediatrics, Orthopedics, Dermatology, ENT, and Radiology. The hospital is 1350 bedded and is fully equipped with 12 major operation theaters addition to minor operation theaters.

MBBS Admission Process



1. MBBS Admission Criteria
In order to take admission at Sri Siddhartha Medical College Tumkur, candidate must appear in NEET UG, secure qualifying marks. Admission is conducted by MCC for its 100% seats.

2. MBBS Eligibility
• Min 50% in +2 in PCB (40% for reserved category)
• Minimum age 17yrs and maximum 25yrs

1. MD/MS/Diploma Admission Criteria

As per the newly formed National Medical Council (NMC) which has proposed that from the year 2021 onwards there will be one exam which is called as NEXT – “National Exit test”, it will be conducted for MBBS Final year passing students to get the license and to get the admission in PG Medical Colleges in India.

a) 50% All India Quota seats of all states except J&K.

b) 100% seats (All India Quota seats + Institutional Quota seats) of Central Universities (Aligarh Muslim University/ Banaras Hindu University/ University of Delhi/ Central Institutes as per eligibility conditions mentioned in Important Questions related to Scheme of Counselling duly uploaded on MCC website.

c) 100% seats of Deemed Universities.

d) 50% AIQ P.G seats of colleges under Employee State Insurance Corporation (wards of ESIC insured persons).

e) All P.G seats of Armed Forces Medical Services Institutions (only Registration part).

f) Central Institutes, VMMC & Safdarjung Hospital, ABVIMS & RML Hospital and ESIC Institute, PGIMSR, Basaidarapur (50% All India Quota seats and 50% seats of I.P University).

50% of Government and 100% seats of Private will be filled through state counseling process.

2. MD/MS/Diploma Eligibility
