The Director General of Medical Education “DGME” is the Governing body which is responsible for the fixation of tuition fee for the Government and Private Medical/Dental Colleges in Uttar Pradesh.
Fee is divided into Government college fee, Private non-minority college fee and Private minority college fee. Although DGME brought some relief for the students by regulating its fee to pursue in the Private Medical Colleges in UP but Minority colleges are not under this guideline, they are still free to fix their own fee and other charges, this makes Minority college a bit expensive.
In 2020 Government brought cap for minimum and maximum fee to be charged by the non-minority Private Medical Colleges in UP. Minimum was fixed at 10, 40,000 and maximum was kept at 12, 72,000. It also brought upper limit on Hostel Fee, Mess charges, miscellaneous charges and Security Money.

POINTS TO CONSIDER WHILE PREPARING YOUR BUDGET FOR PRIVATE MEDICAL COLLEGE IN UP
- Always verify annual fee hike in the college before putting it during choice filling
- Be careful about Bank Guarantee asked by some of the colleges.
- Do not prepare your budget only considering Tuition fee and Hostel charges; look into other charges like miscellaneous fee, security deposit refundable after completion of course.
- Your security money (DD) submitted at the time of document verification, it will not be adjusted against your fee. It will be refunded back to you after completion of counseling process.
- Private Medical College Fee structure in UP varies from one college to another, minority colleges are allowed to fix their fee structure and Government doesn’t have any control over it.

If you are looking for admission in a Private Medical College of Uttar Pradesh, then you must prepare your budget considering all the other charges. Till 2018 there were no cap on the hostel fee, mess charges, miscellaneous fee and security money. In 2020 fee and all the other charges are brought into a minimum and maximum range.
As per the new guidelines laid by the Government and DGME, colleges are allowed to increase fee as per the inflation rate for every new batches going to take admission.
