There are numerous instances where we have seen unfilled NRI seats even after the final round of selection. NRI seats continue to be vacant in areas where college costs is on the higher side. From the perspective of college, this is a drawback. Nevertheless, this is a significant benefit for those students who want to attend the best medical college. As, by spending a little extra amount of money to the college, you can secure the vacant seat in the college you want to pursue MBBS in.

Thus, this process is termed as Management Quota.

About MBBS Admission through Management Quota

In India, there are specifically three states that are Karnataka, Rajasthan and West Bengal where getting admission through management quota is possible. Here, fees of management quota is generally at a higher side.

1.    Karnataka

Starting with Karnataka, in Karnataka there are NRI as well as other quota seats available that has expensive tuition fees. Due to high fees, maximum number of MBBS seat remain vacant even after 3 rounds of counselling.  As many students do not have that much budget to pay.

In light of this, private medical colleges convert their NRI quota seats into management quota and group them together for which NRI quota fees is charged, which is generally expensive. The best part here is that to obtain the vacant seat, parents are free to negotiate with the college and secure a seat for their child in Karnataka.

Basically, for students who can afford a slightly higher amount of fee, getting MBBS Admission through Management Quota is the best option.

2.    Rajasthan

The same holds true for Rajasthan.  It has been observed that many seats in private medical colleges with budgets between 28 and 35 L remain unfilled, thus they offer discount that is based on certain requirements in order to fill those vacant seats.

Thus, after obtaining reductions on the tuition costs, students can pursue MBBS in Rajasthan at a low score and at a low cost. So, by obtaining MBBS Admission through Management Quota, students can simply enroll in the college of their choice in Rajasthan.

3.    West Bengal

All private medical colleges in West Bengal that provide the MBBS programme require a bank guarantee, with the exception of KPC Medical College. Therefore, in West Bengal, a bank guarantee is necessary for the three and a half years' of tuition fees that must be retained in the account as a fixed deposit or given to the college as property collateral.
Blocking such a large sum of money at once seems to be a challenge for parents because the money cannot be utilized again as it remains blocked for 4.5 years.

As a result, the cutoff list declines, which allows the bottom-ranked students to take advantage of the situation and can request the management to waive off the bank guarantee.  By doing this, the student will increase their chances of getting a seat at West Bengal's medical college of their choice.
