In 1957, the initial year of Manipal, there was only program offered that was civil engineering. But gradually with time, from 1967 onwards it started to expand and increased two more courses namely Mechanical and Electrical.
As Manipal University grew, as the college added 23 more engineering courses between 1961 and 2023. The most well-liked of all of them is computer science and IT. Eligibility Criteria for Direct Admission in Manipal Academy of Higher Education
1. Age – Aspirant planning to pursue B.Tech and interested in BTech Direct Admission in Manipal Academy of Higher Education, then he or she must be at least 16 years old.
2. Academic Qualification - The academic qualification for admission in B.Tech course is candidate should obtain at least 50% in higher secondary board exam. Physics, chemistry and maths should be as main subjects in 12th board.

MET stands for Manipal Entrance Test (MET) which is mandatory to clear to get admission in Manipal Academy of Higher Education into various UG and PG programmes.
MET Exam is a university level exam which has a duration of 2 hours 18 mins. It is conducted twice in a year, once in between 28th to 30 April and second attempt in the month of many between 28-28th May.
